AuDHD Therapy

Funding Notice

As a small charity, we are wholly reliant on donations from the public to fund our services. We are currently supporting just under a dozen people through diagnosis and counselling, but we currently have more demand than we can afford.

Due to this, we have unfortunately had to temporarily pause taking on clients that require us to fund their treatment so we can continue to support our current clients. We hope that, with your help, we can reopen applications in the near future.

We work with a number of neurodiversity-affirming counsellors and psychotherapists, many of whom are neurodivergent themselves, to be able to offer partially-funded therapy to autistic and ADHD adults in the UK. Many of these therapists specialise in other areas alongside neurodiversity, such as grief, addiction, and identity. You can read our Therapist Directory in the Meet the Therapists section at the bottom of this page.

If you would like us to help fund your therapy, please see the application process below.

We are also able to put self-funding clients in contact with these same therapists. If you would like us to do this, please email us at hello@audhduk.org.

Please note: we are unable to fund or refer those under the age of 18.

Unfortunately, we are not equipped to help those who are suicidal or in crisis. If you are struggling, please contact Samaritans on 116 123 or visit our Urgent Help page for more options.

Application Process

  • Step 1: Eligibility Assessment

The first step in your therapy application is an eligibility assessment. This is where you tell us if you have been officially diagnosed with autism or ADHD, or if you’re self-diagnosed. We also ask a bit about your autistic/ADHD traits, and how our support would be of benefit to you. This will take you around 15 minutes, and you should hear back from us within 7 working days.

  • Step 2: Application Forms

If you’re eligible, you will be sent our application form. This goes into detail about you, your health history, why you’re seeking therapy, and agreement of payment and commitment to us. Once you have submitted the necessary paperwork, you should hear back from us within 14 working days.

  • Step 3: Schedule Your First Session

The third and final step is making contact with your chosen therapist. We contact them on your behalf and send over your referral, then they will be in touch to schedule your first session. This process can take a while, but we aim to have a date organised within 6 weeks of contacting the therapist.
